Cleo Annual Swim Event 2011

Last Wednesday night Lewie & I were lucky enough to attend the annual Cleo Swim Event and Boy were we lucky. It was the most amazing night.

After racing home from work to throw on a maxi and collect my fiance we jumped in the car and sped off to the Opera House where we were to board a water taxi at the Man o' War steps. This would take us to... The Island!

The Island is the most incredible venue. A floating barge of sorts but most barges don't have marble bars and gorgeous white day beds. The most incredible part about this venue is the ability to literally move it wherever you please and on Wednesday night we were treated to the most divine view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

Once we arrived on board there were a multitude of cocktails on offer. From Midori concoctions to those with a dash of the delicious Boco Lupo energy drink which with it's gorgeous mixture of fruits such as orange, pineapple, peach and passionfruit, is a refreshing change.

After grabbing a cocktail we positioned ourselves in the perfect spot to check out the swimwear parade. Gorgeous billabong bikinis and one pieces were paraded by equally as gorgeous girls. A little hiccup in the form of a blackout added to the drama of the evening. With a thunderstorm threatening and a bit of swell the girls were amazing at keeping it together, not one fell. Thank fully they were barefoot.

Sydney's social set were out in force with guests such as Corbin Harris, the divine Vanessa Gilbert of Rachel Gilbert, International DJ's Duck Sauce, Channel [V]'s Danny Clayton and co-host Carissa Waldorf, Art Vs. Science's Jim Finn and model Nathan Joliffe. With DJ Mix spinning some great tracks the vibe was amazing, the night was divine and the crowd was hot!

All aboard were dressed for the perfect summer party and Kylie Speer stood out in a what looked like a gorgeous Camilla maxi.

The absolutely gorgeous Gemma Crisp, editor of Cleo, wore a stunning yellow Rachel Gilbert mini which hit all the right notes for the Hawaiian themed evening.

The night would not have been such a success without all the amazing hard work of Roxy and the Sweaty Betty girls. These girls are just fantastic! Their work ethic is beyond anything I’ve seen and on top of that they are just so incredibly lovely! I also have to mention they always look divine, even on the job.

Thank you so much to Roxy and Maz and the Betties and to Gemma and Cleo. Lewie and I had the most amazing night and it was topped off by the most incredible goody bag. We are still going through it like kids at Christmas.

Check out the parade and a little of the atmosphere here on the Cleo Website.
